"Burn" is a song recorded by English singer Ellie Goulding for Halcyon Days (2013), the reissue of her second studio album, Halcyon (2012). The song was released as the lead single from the reissue on 5 July 2013. It was written by Ryan Tedder, Goulding, Greg Kurstin, Brent Kutzle and Noel Zancanella, while production was handled by Kurstin and vocal production was done by Tedder. 

The track received a mixed response from music critics, who praised it as "catchy" and noted it as one of Goulding's most "radio friendly" songs to date, while others felt it was not memorable. "Burn" earned Goulding her first number-one single on the UK Singles Chart, selling 116,857 copies in its first week. Elsewhere, it reached the top ten in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Ireland and New Zealand.

The song has reached the Top 10 in 6 countries (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom). A second version "Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine)" features vocals from Will Heard.

On the accompanied Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart, the single gave Del Rey her first US number-one single in August 2013. Earlier in 2012, the song also managed to become a rock hit in the US.

The song was released as the album's lead single, it was originally intended to be released through mainstream and rhythmic airplay on August 19, 2013 by Interscope Records, but was rush-released a week earlier on August 12 after two snippets of the song were leaked online on August 10.

The song was released as the lead single from Blurred Lines on March 26, 2013 through Star Trak Recordings. Believing that the song was supposed to be a demo, Justin Timberlake had expressed interest in writing additional lyrics for the song as he wanted it to be the lead single from his The 20/20 Experience album (which was released earlier in 2013) but Pharrell denied him from acquiring the song as he believed that Thicke was already planning it to be the lead single of his album with the 
same title.

The song was recorded in 2013 and consists of a running length of 3 minutes and 21 seconds. The opening of the song samples The Who's "Baba O'Riley" which was released in 1971. It was announced by One Direction in a video uploaded to their YouTube channel on 25 June 2013.The trailer for This is Us was released thirty minutes after the video was uploaded, and included a short preview of the song. The song became available for pre-order on iTunes on 26 June.

The song was added to their debut studio album Icona Pop, as well as their EP Iconic, and their upcoming international album This Is.... The song entered the Swedish Singles Chart at number 48 and peaked at number two. The song was placed on multiple year-end lists, including Rolling Stone, which ranked it at number 35, and Pitchfork, which ranked it at number 50. The song became Icona Pop's first US hit, peaking at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified double-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, denoting over 2 million copies sold in the United States. In July 2013, over a year after it was released elsewhere, the song charted at #1 on the UK singles chart. It also featured in both Microsoft Internet Explorer's latest advert and Samsung's demonstration of the Samsung Galaxy S4.

"Let Her Go" was released in July 2012 as the second single from Passenger's third album All the Little Lights. In early 2013, the song broke through in Europe and Oceania, reaching number-one in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland, making it his first international success.
