Believing that the song was supposed to be a demo, Justin Timberlake had expressed interest in writing additional lyrics for the song as he wanted it to be the lead single from his The 20/20 Experience album (which was released earlier in 2013) but Pharrell denied him from acquiring the song as he believed that Thicke was already planning it to be the lead single of his album with the same title.
